    Contour – Make Noise


    Contour is a 4 Stage function generator, or ADSR, derived from our 0-COAST synthesizer. It is designed to create control voltages to drive the Dynamix, modDemix and other fast VCAs, VCFs, and more. The Contour takes inspiration from the original Loudness Contour circuit of the MiniMoog, which is perhaps the most well-known example of East Coast Synthesis. The simplified control set (where Decay adjust both the decay to Sustain and the Release) makes it quick and intuitive to set-up. The Contour module adds full voltage control, a mirrored output, End of Onset and End of Contour Gate outputs which allow it to be highly integrated into any modular synthesizer regardless of coastal allegiance.

    The circuit is based in part on the Roland SH-101 / System100m design with several enhancements.

    • Manual GATE buttons
    • Three timing ranges: (1 second, 10second, 1minute A/D times)
    • Normal and inverted outputs
    • End of Decay (EOD) logic output
    • Cycle mode (which GATE logic control)
    • Retrig input (allows re-triggering of the envelope if source gate held high)
    • Dynamic control of the envelope output level (each ADSR is routed through a linear VCA and the control is normalled to +5V via the LEVEL jack. You can patch another control source like an LFO or VELOCITY level from a keyboard to this jack.

    Brst is a voltage controlled burst generator and trigger delay. Upon receipt of a gate signal, Brst will output a stream of triggers. Knobs and CV inputs give the user control over speed and the number of repetitions.
